Love island 2020 Controversy

Love island winter edition has been hit with 272 complaints after the first episode. Viewers contacted ofcom furious after Siannise Fudge compared her partner to Alladin. Viewers were also furious big game hunter Ollie was in the villa.

A spokesperson for OfCom told The Sun Online:  “We’ve had 272 complaints about last night’s Love Island. 36 of these are about Nas being referred to as Aladdin.

“231 are about the inclusion of Ollie as a contestant.”

Nas described himself as half Asian and half carribean. Naturally some viewers took offence to the Alladin reference considering his heritage.

It wasn’t a great start for Nas. He was snubbed for the girls, as none of them stepped forward for him. He eventually chose Siannise who then vocalised her disinterested.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “This Aladdin thing is rubbing me the wrong way #loveisland.”

Another viewer tweeted

LOOOOOOL did she just compare Nas to Aladdin? Surely ITV has HR 😭 #LoveIsland

Viewers also took to twitter to share their disdain for big game hunter Ollie. Not only for his disgraceful hobby but also for dabbing in 2020.

Love island 2020 Controversy

‘Ollie better be the first one out of love island if he’s sat there shooting CRITICALLY endangered & partially extinct animals & have his own hunting company. Honestly disgusted LMFAOO, we should be saving the animals not shooting them for banter or a trophy’ 🥴🥴🥴 #LoveIsland

‘Another viewer sarcastically tweeted Ollie off love island, what a cracking lad. Hunts animals and dabs on tv. Speechless’

Even love island presenter vocalised her views on Ollie.

She said ‘I saw pictures of one Islander when I came back to London that did really upset me’ .

“It did make me sad. I just want to acknowledge that.”

In conclusion I think it’s fair to say there will be more scandals in the coming weeks.
